SICL The Event '10 on Thursday 24th June 2010 at Tockwith Circuit, York was a huge success. The weather was glorious, the new venue was a big hit and Suzi Perry, following in the footsteps of James May and Vikki Butler-Henderson, was a star.
The Aerial Atom was, as always, very popular until it blew up! The Ferraris were extremely popular but possibly the most fun this year was the head-to-head Karting. As usual the competition elements of the day were completed with friendly rivalry.
Congratulations to the winners
Fast Laps Winner – Danny Parr of Jark Plc
Karting Winner – Martin Firth of Tricon Services Ltd
Ferrari Best Driver – Andy Fear of Leeds City College
SICL Staff Karting Winner – ‘Fast’ Leon Harland
Quiz-Card Winner – Jane Dewar of Bowman Riley Architects Ltd
Thank you as always to our sponsors and partners: Cisco, Dell, Eaton, LifeSize, Riverbed, Star and VMware. Thank you to Javelin Trackdays, Exact Image Limited, H2A Graphic Design and Suzi Perry who all made The Event such a success.
Thanks also to Johnny ‘Guitar’ White for the opening rendition of ‘
Network Down Blues’ showing once again that we ‘do corporate without doing corporate’ – PowerPoint or a blues number – you decide! Thanks as ever to Owen and the Britcar Team for bringing the new SICL Britcar up from Northampton for unveiling and launch and a big thank you to all the drivers especially JOUST considering the Noble repair bill.
A special thank you is reserved for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Please support this fantastic charity
